Study Team

For the project study, IDOT will act as a joint lead agency with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). A consultant team led by Stantec will conduct the environmental studies associated with the I-55 Managed Lane Project for IDOT.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is managing the overall I-55 Project. IDOT has responsibility for planning, construction, and maintenance of Illinois' extensive transportation network, which encompasses, highways and bridges, airports, public transit, rail freight and rail passenger systems. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is the lead federal agency for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process.
